Honoring the Da Nang International Airport Aviation Security Force

Behind every safe takeoff and landing, and behind the peace of mind of millions of passengers arriving in the coastal city of Da Nang, lies the silent sacrifice and dedication of a very special team. On this journey of looking back at our growth, the Executive Committee of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of Da Nang International Airport have extended their deepest gratitude to all officers, party members, and staff of the Aviation Security Center — our steadfast "iron shield" at the gateway to Central Vietnam.

Formed in the early days following national liberation and reunification (March 26, 1976), the Da Nang Aviation Security Force has a unique and proud origin. Soldiers stepping out of the war for national liberation brought with them the noble traditions and virtues of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" to lay the very first bricks for the foundation of civil aviation security.

The history of the unit is forever marked by an outstanding feat on February 7, 1979, when our security forces courageously and tactfully neutralized four armed hijackers right at Da Nang Airport. This act safely protected all passengers and aircraft, remaining a timeless symbol of bravery and ultimate dedication to duty.

Over the recent terms (2015 – 2025), the Da Nang Aviation Security Center has consistently been a bright beacon of performance, contributing significantly to political stability and the socio-economic and cultural development of the city. Working closely with military and police forces, the unit successfully handled over 5,000 security and order violations, effectively preventing unlawful interference in aviation operations.

Far beyond merely completing assigned tasks, the service quality of our security force has steadily risen to meet the rigorous benchmarks set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The unit continuously innovates its management methods, streamlines its organizational structure for maximum efficiency, tightens internal security, and sharpens the professional skills of every individual officer.

These relentless efforts have been well-rewarded with high honors, including over 300 letters of appreciation from passengers and tourists, along with numerous Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, the National Assembly Office, the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises, and the City Police Department.

Embracing the government's guidelines on structural optimization and organizational reform, the Aviation Security Force is entering a new chapter of development. While challenges and opportunities intertwine, the Board of Directors of Da Nang International Airport places absolute trust in the unwavering solidarity and professional spirit of the Center.

Once again, we would like to honor and express our profound appreciation for the priceless contributions of our entire aviation security family. Wishing you all good health, happiness, and continued passion as we work together to build Da Nang International Airport into a premier "Safe – Civilized – Modern" destination in the region.
