Paperless travel now available at Da Nang International Airport with Face ID via VNeID

Starting 15 July 2025, flying from Da Nang gets even smoother. Passengers on domestic flights can now breeze through airport procedures without showing any physical documents just by using Face ID via the VNeID app.

A simpler, smarter way to travel
From 4:00 PM on 15 July, passengers flying with Vietnam Airlines or Vietjet Air from Da Nang International Airport can use facial recognition technology to check in, pass security, and board all without showing ID. Here’s how it works, in just three simple steps:

1. Check-in with the VNeID app

• Open the VNeID app on your phone.
• Tap Other Services → Air Travel Procedures → Online Check-in, and follow the instructions.
• You can also check in and register your facial data at Counters 05, 06, or 28 at the airport.

2. Go through security

• Head to Lane 3 at Terminal 1, where biometric screening is available.
• Stand on the marked spot and look into the camera for facial recognition.
• Once verified, the gate opens automatically and you're good to go.

3. Board your flight

• At the boarding gate, do the same: stand still, face the camera, and let the system confirm your identity.
• After a successful scan, the gate opens and you're ready to board, no ID or ticket needed.

A few tips before you fly
To make sure everything runs smoothly, please:

• Upgrade your VNeID account to Level 2 and make sure you're using the latest version of the app (required for passengers aged 14 and above).
• Install the latest Vietnam Airlines or Vietjet Air mobile app for easier flight information syncing.
• Carry a valid ID (such as a national ID card or passport) just in case biometric systems encounter any issues.
