Da Nang International Airport Breaks Ground on Terminal 2 Expansion Project
On May 19, 2026, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) officially commenced the expansion project of Da Nang International Passenger Terminal – T2, with a total investment of nearly VND 1,500 billion. The project marks an important milestone in enhancing Da Nang’s international connectivity and passenger experience.

After nearly a decade of operation, Terminal 2 has become a key gateway connecting Central Vietnam with the world. The terminal successfully served APEC 2017 and became the first and currently the only terminal in Vietnam to achieve the prestigious 5-Star Skytrax rating for three consecutive years.
To meet the growing demand for international travel, the expansion project will increase the terminal’s capacity to 6 million passengers annually while continuing to develop a modern, convenient, and locally inspired airport experience.
Inspired by the image of “Seagull Wings,” the expanded terminal will continue its nature-inspired design philosophy, integrating open spaces, natural light, modern technology, and passenger-focused amenities to create a seamless and welcoming journey for travelers.
More than just a place of arrival and departure, Da Nang International Terminal aims to become the first touchpoint where visitors can experience the hospitality, openness, and vibrant spirit of the coastal city.
The expansion of Terminal 2 not only represents the growth of an aviation infrastructure project, but also opens up new opportunities for connectivity, tourism, trade, and international exchange, contributing to Da Nang’s continued growth on the regional and global stage.
